SPORTS GOAL

To do well in Youth competitions (U19). Right now I seem to sit mid- fleet in all the competitions I attend, so I am working on achieving better results. My goal is to see consistent top ten results in regattas I attend in the future. It will take a lot of work, and I age out of the Youth class at the end of next year (2023), but I have confidence that that is enough time for me to put in the right efforts and see results. I will continue to participate in youth events as that is my focus and I hope to see improvement in my performance in the next year, reaching my goal of top ten results before I age out. When I age out, that will be the time I can focus on my goals for U-21 events, but for now this is my aspiration.

CAREER ASPIRATION

I have hopes of being a psychiatrist in the future. I love sciences and am very intrigued by psychology and behavior. I also want a career that helps people, because that is some- thing I love to do. Those that need the most help are those that don’t know it, and mental illness can sometimes be very difficult to recognize. That’s why medicine, especially the field of psychiatry, is interesting to me. Psychiatry is different from general medicine because it is more intricate and complex. There is never a simple fix, every person’s mind is different from another and it takes time and communication to solve problems in this field. It is a challenging profession and it is something I think I would absolutely love.

FAVORITE HOBBIES

Sailing is what I do in the majority of my free time. Whenever one of my friends asks me why I’m not free, the usual answer is that I have sailing. My focus is ILCA 6 sailing, in which I train regularly and sail competitively, but I sail other boats as well just for fun. I have sailed waszps, which are a blast, because foiling can be so much fun. I have also done fitted dinghy sailing and IOD sailing, which I enjoy because there is a crew of six in the one boat and the teamwork and communication is something I like. I love team racing as well, where multiple boats sail on the same team, racing other boats, using rules and tactics to put the other team behind and win. That is probably the most competitive, as the courses are quite small and there is a lot of yelling going on, but I love it because it takes your head out of the boat to focus on those around you more. Also it can get quite chaotic and I just have a lot of fun in that.
